In the Beginning | Bible Art Project | Week 5<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Each day before starting that days bible passages review the bible passages previously learned and illustrated and answer any questions asked. Review each piece of work with the corresponding bible verse. Ask your child questions and give them lots of positive feedback. As you get further along, it might become time consuming to review each passage, but you can pick and choose each day depending on how you want to focus your child\u2019s attention.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Start this project by reviewing, reading and discussing the bible passage each day with your child. If your child is old enough have him read the scripture from his bible. If your child is not reading, read the scripture from the bible to him. Be sure to ask your child if they have any questions. You can work this into a bible study and give your child any background information needed to explain. Passages are from the Holy Bible NIV.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Day 21
Famine in Egypt
Genesis 41:46-56<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

 <\/sup>Joseph was thirty years old when he entered the service of Pharaoh king of Egypt. And Joseph went out from Pharaoh\u2019s presence and traveled throughout Egypt.  <\/sup>During the seven years of abundance the land produced plentifully.  <\/sup>Joseph collected all the food produced in those seven years of abundance in Egypt and stored it in the cities. In each city he put the food grown in the fields surrounding it.  <\/sup>Joseph stored up huge quantities of grain, like the sand of the sea; it was so much that he stopped keeping records because it was beyond measure.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

 <\/sup>Before the years of famine came, two sons were born to Joseph by Asenath daughter of Potiphera, priest of On.  <\/sup>Joseph named his firstborn Manasseh and said, \u201cIt is because God has made me forget all my trouble and all my father\u2019s household.\u201d  <\/sup>The second son he named Ephraim and said, \u201cIt is because God has made me fruitful in the land of my suffering.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The seven years of abundance in Egypt came to an end, and the seven years of famine began, just as Joseph had said. There was famine in all the other lands, but in the whole land of Egypt there was food.  <\/sup>When all Egypt began to feel the famine, the people cried to Pharaoh for food. Then Pharaoh told all the Egyptians, \u201cGo to Joseph and do what he tells you.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

When the famine had spread over the whole country, Joseph opened all the storehouses and sold grain to the Egyptians, for the famine was severe throughout Egypt.  <\/sup>And all the world came to Egypt to buy grain from Joseph, because the famine was severe everywhere.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Day 23
Gensis 42: 16-18<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

When the news reached Pharaoh\u2019s palace that Joseph\u2019s brothers had come, Pharaoh and all his officials were pleased.  <\/sup>Pharaoh said to Joseph, \u201cTell your brothers, \u2018Do this: Load your animals and return to the land of Canaan, and bring your father and your families back to me. I will give you the best of the land of Egypt and you can enjoy the fat of the land.\u2019<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Day 24
Exodus 1:6-14<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Now Joseph and all his brothers and all that generation died,   <\/sup>but the Israelites were exceedingly fruitful; they multiplied greatly, increased in numbers and became so numerous that the land was filled with them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

 <\/sup>Then a new king, to whom Joseph meant nothing, came to power in Egypt.  <\/sup>\u201cLook,\u201d he said to his people, \u201cthe Israelites have become far too numerous for us.  <\/sup>Come, we must deal shrewdly with them or they will become even more numerous and, if war breaks out, will join our enemies, fight against us and leave the country.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

 <\/sup>So they put slave masters over them to oppress them with forced labor, and they built Pithom and Rameses as store cities for Pharaoh. 12 <\/sup>But the more they were oppressed, the more they multiplied and spread; so the Egyptians came to dread the Israelites 13 <\/sup>and worked them ruthlessly. 14 <\/sup>They made their lives bitter with harsh labor in brick and mortar and with all kinds of work in the fields; in all their harsh labor the Egyptians worked them ruthlessly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Day 25
Moses’ Birth
Exodus 2: 1-5 and 10<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

 <\/strong>Now a man of the tribe of Levi married a Levite woman, <\/sup>and she became pregnant and gave birth to a son. When she saw that he was a fine child, she hid him for three months.  <\/sup>But when she could hide him no longer, she got a papyrus basket for him and coated it with tar and pitch. Then she placed the child in it and put it among the reeds along the bank of the Nile.  <\/sup>His sister stood at a distance to see what would happen to him.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

 <\/sup>Then Pharaoh\u2019s daughter went down to the Nile to bathe, and her attendants were walking along the riverbank. She saw the basket among the reeds and sent her female slave to get it. <\/sup>She opened it and saw the baby. He was crying, and she felt sorry for him. \u201cThis is one of the Hebrew babies,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

 <\/sup>When the child grew older, she took him to Pharaoh\u2019s daughter and he became her son. She named him Moses, saying, \u201cI drew him out of the water.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Day 26 <\/strong>
Moses Leaves Egypt
Exodus 2: 15-23<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

…Moses fled from Pharaoh and went to live in Midian, where he sat down by a well.  <\/sup>Now a priest of Midian had seven daughters, and they came to draw water and fill the troughs to water their father\u2019s flock.  <\/sup>Some shepherds came along and drove them away, but Moses got up and came to their rescue and watered their flock.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

When the girls returned to Reuel their father, he asked them, \u201cWhy have you returned so early today?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

They answered, \u201cAn Egyptian rescued us from the shepherds. He even drew water for us and watered the flock.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cAnd where is he?\u201d Reuel asked his daughters. \u201cWhy did you leave him? Invite him to have something to eat.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Moses agreed to stay with the man, who gave his daughter Zipporah to Moses in marriage. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
