Dried Oranges for Christmas.
A few years ago I saw Lisa from the Farmhouse on Boone come across some dried oranges in one of her thrifting videos. I loved the idea of decorating with dried fruit. This year I decided to give it a shot.
I don’t have a dehydrator so I decided to try to dry out orange slices on low heat in my oven.
First I sliced the oranges about a 1/4 of inch thick. Try to slice them as uniform as you can. This will help with even uniform drying.
It took me four hours in our electric oven at 175′ to dry out my orange slices. I flipped them each hour. I would recommend 3.5 hours. Mine do look a little over “dried”.
I love the way they turned out.
