CHANGES WE MADE TO HELP WITH ANIEXTY AND STRESS DURING THE GLOBAL PANDEMIC.
COVID has changed our homeschool.
During the normal school year we average watching 1 live performance a month. Along with watching others JV usually acts in at least one play a year. We have weekly and monthly club meetings that fit into our schedules. We have Sunday School and in- person Church services. We have in person music lessons and enrichment classes.
Although, many of these are still available virtually, it just isn’t the same, is it? We don’t have the break in our day or our drive or walk to the club meeting. We are at home in front of a screen. Which is something our family does not do much. There is no TV time during the school week and no video games during the school year at our house.
Below are a few things that have helped make the changes a bit more bearable.
No big surprises here.
We start our school day later than usual.
Our calming morning music is now loud, crazy happy music that includes Disco, Funk and Folk.
We walk just about every morning.
JV doesn’t do as much in a day.
I incorporate more animation time, art and cooking time.
Our day ends a little later than usual.
These small changes and expectations have eased some of the anxiety and stress that has surfaced since our days have changed so much.
What have you done to switch things up a bit during this pandemic?
